We would like to see all students obtain a maths GCSE at level 4 or above, which enables them to fulfil their own career aspirations.

For some students, the pace of the maths curriculum is too fast and they reach the end of primary school with gaps remaining in their understanding.

Without these strong foundations, it then becomes extremely challenging for them to make sense of the secondary maths learning, leading to them falling further behind, and losing confidence and self-esteem, and, in some, resulting in absenteeism.

If we can identify these students early, close the gaps in their understanding and regain their confidence, these students will be able to rejoin their classes and progress towards their GCSE qualification.

Early Identification of Maths Learning Gaps

Our goal is to detect and address maths learning gaps in students who are falling behind as early as possible.

Bridging Gaps for Academic Success

Students will address and fill understanding gaps, enabling them to reintegrate into regular maths lessons and achieve GCSE Level 4 or above.

Empowering Students’ Futures

Students are equipped with the choice to pursue further education or embark on a career, confident in the knowledge that they have successfully completed their maths qualification.

“Put simply, without a solid foundation in maths, our children risk being left behind… shut out of the careers they aspire to; and the lives they want to lead.

More than 8 million adults have numeracy skills below those expected of a 9 year old. And around a third of our young people don’t pass maths GCSE.”
